Last April we reported on the groundbreaking of a new 550-space parking structure on 11 Mile Rd. in the City of Royal Oak, MI. This new garage is being built by the City of Royal Oak to support the Royal Oak City Center (ROCC) Development plan. The ROCC plan includes a new 130,000 square foot office building, a new City Hall, a new Police Station, and a new Central Park all right in the center of Downtown Royal Oak. The 7-level, 550-space public parking garage will greatly support this development plan.
The Rich & Associates’ team is the prime design firm providing parking consulting, architectural, and structural engineering design services. The 11 Mile Road Parking Structure is the third parking garage designed by Rich & Associates for the City of Royal Oak in the past 18 years. The first project, the award winning 5th & Lafayette Parking Garage which was completed in 2001. The second project is the 2nd & Center Street Parking Garage, was completed in January 2018.
